SoundboxIndia had a conversation with talented singers Dolly and Roop Sidhu. It was an EXCLUSIVE candid chat and the duo gave us all the deets of their new single, Teri maa. The song features Shamita Shetty and the video is directed by Raj Kundra. The music is by B Praak and Jaani has written the lyrics of the song.

Talking about their musical journey Roop said: "I started singing four years back - earlier I was into acting - and my musical journey has been amazing, more than I expected.” Dolly revealed to us that she started singing at the age of 11 and "I used to sing and i took part of the competition L'il Champs, then suddenly I got a break in the Punjabi music industry with a big hit called Mela. So I thought I could do something in music and take it up as my career."

When Roop was asked what she would prefer doing, she said that acting has been her passion, but "Singing is something that really connects to your soul and I love singing."

Most people know Roop and Dolly Sidhu as the 'Sufi Sparrows'. But where did the name come from? They said, "The name was not given by us. The man who has given the name of the song, he was the one who created the band and it was all his idea. But 'Sufi Sparrows' will always be close to our heart." So what would they rather be known as now? "We would like to be called by our names, Dolly and Roop Sidhu."
