Sridevi was one of the finest actresses to have appeared on the big screen in the Hindi film industry. Her deep voice and her acting skills made her stand out and become an iconic star.

Sridevi started as a child actor and went on to become India's first female superstar. In 1983, she received wide recognition with the film Himmatwala, which was critically acclaimed. After  a hugely successful career and some years away from the big screen raising her daughters, she made a comeback with English Vinglish and then Mom. Tragically,  in 2018 she died, at the age of 54. Her sudden death stunned us and left the nation disoriented and disillusioned.

She won millions of hearts with her amazing performances and is still remembered as the face of many hit songs in the late 80s and early 90s. Today would have been her 56th birthday.
