Credits for independent music making its way into Bollywood and mainstream music has to go to music festivals promoting such talent. One music festival that has grown from a single venue to five locations across India is NH7 Weekender. It was not the first of its kind to be held in India, but it was the first to promote indie, pop, rock, reggae, techno, Bollywood and classical genres, keeping music the priority. The good news is that the event is back this year, adding one more genre of entertainment to delight attendees. NH7 Weekender recently shared the line-up for the event to be held in Pune and there are well-known international artists and some young Indian music talents that will be present. Along with Joe Satriani and Nightmares on Wax, B-townies Salim-Sulaiman and the less famous Dualist Inquiry will showcase their music. The ‘happiest musical festival’, as it is often known, will live up to its name by adding a stage for stand-up comedians this year. The event will be held held on December 7, 8 and 9.
