Marvel’s Black Panther has just made history by becoming the first superhero movie to win three Oscars. The movie picked up the awards for Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score. SoundboxIndia wishes the music composer Ludwig Göransson for his first Oscar win.

Apart from becoming the first film from Marvel Cinematic Universe to win Best Original Score, the movie beat other nominations - BlacKkKlansman (Terence Blanchard), Mary Poppins Returns (Marc Shaiman), Isle of Dogs (Alexandre Desplat) and If Beale Street Could Talk (Nicholas Britell).

Music composer Göransson also won two Grammy awards this year – Best Score for Black Panther and Best Song for Childish Gambino’s ‘This is America’.

If we listen to the two musical compositions, they sound worlds apart from each other. Göransson had actually travelled to Africa for his research in understanding the roots of traditional African music. What made the music score more special was the mix of new age hip – hop beats with the traditional African music that sounded perfect throughout the whole movie. Do you all agree?

Stay tuned to SoundboxIndia for more updates.
