Imagine Dragons front man Dan Reynolds has opened up about an autoimmune disorder he suffers from that greatle affected his life. Dan Reynolds suffers from ankylosing spondylitis which causes bones to fuse and leads to a lot of pain.
It was so bad that the band almost lost out on an early and crucial record deal. During a performance for three record labels he could not move and was motionless on stage. He was scared to tell people as he did not want to be judged. He was afraid that this performance would bring about the end of the band. Thankfully Imagine Dragons got the deal and went on to become one of the most successful modern bands.
Since then Dan Reynolds has campaigned to raise awareness about his condition and remove the stigma behind it. Incidentally he isn’t the only musician to suffer from ankylosing spondylitis. Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars also suffers from it. It was shown in the movie The Dirt which is on Motley Crue and is available on Netflix.
We are glad that Dan Reynolds is open about his condition and wants to help those who also suffer from it.
