We’re still in shock with the events of the latest episode of Game of Thrones. Many important characters died and there were was a very devastating plot twist. Now only one episode is left of the show.
The show’s creators, David Benioff and D.B.Weiss are huge fans of Florence+The Machine and wanted the band to perform a song for the show. The song was called Jenny of Oldstones and was written by David Benioff, D.B. Weiss and the show’s music composer, Ramin Djawadi. Jenny of Oldstones was played in the end credits of the second episode of the latest season.
Florence+The Machine performed Jenny of Oldstones live for the first time this weekend. Before the performance, lead singer Florence Welch dedicated the song to Arya Stark who she says saved us all.
Florence Welch’s vocal ability is absolutely insane. She sounds just as good live which is very difficult for singers. She shows off her very wide vocal range and control.
The thing with this song is its mostly just Florence Welch singing. There’s only a very faint instrumentation from the rest of the band. It would have sounded better if there was maybe a guitar strumming or a tambourine.
