Last year the television music reality American Idol was given a redo, with brand new judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. I kissed a girl singer Katy says that working on the show has helped her rediscover her inspiration. The I kissed a girl singer has been working for years, her contralto voice well suited to almost anything she tries, be it the gospel music that her music was once rooted in, or the more experimental pop-rock, electro-pop, dancehall or disco. Obviously she knows more than just a thing or two about how to deal with everything from a superhit song to a creative slump.
This is what she wants contestants on the reality show to learn from, Katy says, as she describes what American Idol means to her. “It’s so beautiful. It just really reminds me of my own process. It re-inspires me. And it’s that great American dream come true.” And along the way, wethinks her maternal streak has been awakened too. As Katy says, “I care so much about these kids. I’m just so encouraged by these kids, and it makes me feel like a good person while (mentoring them), so I love it.”
Katy Perry herself has that something extra and has evolved along the way on her music career. Take a look at what makes us say that….
- I kissed a girl
- Teenage dream
- Chained to the rhythm
- Never really over
