It came like a bolt from the blue. Katy Perry, singer of such empowerment anthems such as Roar and I kissed a girl, has been accused of sexual harassment by male model Josh Kloss, who starred in her 2010 Teenage dream video.
As he tells it, Katy said it was ‘gross’ kissing him for the video, which was crushing to him, because she was his teenage dream (sic). But things went off the rails very quickly for him. Kloss wrote on Instagram, describing the scene at a costu7me designer’s do: “It was Johny Wujek’s birthday party at moonlight roller way. And when I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush. But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us, my penis. Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt?” And why didn’t he talk about this earlier? Kloss says that Katy’s people stopped him from saying or doing anything about it. And the circumstances were not conducive to men talking about sexual harassment at the time, which was another inhibiting factor. Kloss said, “I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse, but females with power are just as disgusting.”
It gets more complicated. Kloss went on to explain that “She made that very clear, I’m her prostitute.” He is obviously hurt and whether his allegations have any basis or not, he is willing and ready to talk about the way he felt…and seems to still feel. “And you hear over and over a million times that males are the great evil on this planet. Meanwhile you know the truth POWER empowers what is corrupt in people, regardless of their gender.”
Wow! Everyone is waiting to hear what Katy Perry – or her representatives – have to say about this. Meanwhile, we wonder what – or who - will pop out from behind the #MeToo parda next…hai na?
