Missy Elliott made history by becoming the first female hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The I’m better singer was nominated for the honour in November and since then hip-hop lovers have been keen that she make history.

The rapper, songwriter and producer congratulated the other artists who were inducted into the Hall of Fame with her and thanked her fans for all their support and love. Check her tweet below:

A songwriter can qualify for the Hall of Fame induction 20 years after the commercial release of their first song. This only proves how much Missy Elliott has contributed to the hip-hop music industry over the years.

Other rappers and musicians were happy for Elliott and praised her for this achievement. SoundBox India congratulates her for making history.
