Various artistes and charities from Mumbai have been trying their best to stop the deforestation of the forest cover in Aarey. Singers like Vishal Dadlani have expressed their grief and anger while speaking against the system that wants to destroy the only last remaining forest in Mumbai. Apart from affecting the whole ecosystem around Aarey, the cultures which have been followed since generations will also be lost forever.
Music composer Ankur Tewari, who has worked on the music of the upcoming movie Gully Boy, will be performing with other musicians who will support this cultural movement to #SaveAarey. Some folk singers from Aarey will be sharing the stage with Nikit Surve and Stalin Dayanand who will talk on the Leopards of Aarey and Fragile Ecosystems of Mumbai, respectively.
Do you think this will help the government realise the huge mistake they are making? Not so long ago a wildfire in Aarey Forest drastically swept its natural habitat. With only a few parts of the forest unaffected, these artistes are doing everything they can to save the last place which supplies most of the fresh air to the city. Let’s support these talents and spread the word to #SaveAarey.
