After the first song, Saugandh Mujhe iss mitti ki from the film PM Narendra Modi gained 2.4 million views on Youtube in four days the makers have released the second song called Hindustani which has gained a lot of attention on social media platforms for various reasons. It is a revamp of the 2005 hit song 'Suno gaur se duniyawalon from the movie DUS. Netizens have already started comparing the two versions. The original song was written by Sameer and sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Udit Narayan, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Dominique. Music was by Shankar, Ehsaan & Loy and it got everyone grooving with its energetic beats.
The video had Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty dancing on stage in front of a crowd. And yes, it made for a visual treat. Whereas the new version has Vivek Oberoi who is essaying the role of PM Narendra Modi in the film is seen walking with pride holding the Indian flag with the Indian army. The song is sung by Shankar Mahadevan's son Siddharth. The rap is written by Parry G. The video's ending gives goosebumps as Vivek Oberoi walks through the lanes of Kashmir holding the flag and shouts 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', which gives a sense of pride and patriotism. The lyrics have been precisely changed e.g. the original one had the lines 'Sabse aage honge Hindustani' and the current one says 'Sabse aage hain Hindustani' which makes all the difference and gives more power to the song and the video. All in all it sounds like a perfect fit.
