It takes a lot these days to make a song stand out. The second song from Sanjay Dutt’s Prasthanam is not extraordinary, but it has a good vibe to it. The melody is familiar and not very dynamic, but that allows the story being picturised to take precedence. There are soaring notes that showcase Ankit Tiwari’s control over his voice, while the female section by Deepali Sathe matches with its mellow depth.
The song is all about Amyra Dastur and Ali Fazal finding and expressing love. They frolic along the streets and in gardens, flirting, teasing, hugging and being generally happy. The couple has chemistry and as the song gets playful, so do they, while the lower, more emotionally intense tones have a corresponding slow-down of the action. The music for the song and for the film is by Ankit Tiwari, Farhad Samji and Vikram Montrose, with lyrics by Samji, Atique Allahabadi, Shekhar Astitwa, Yash Eshawari and Anurag Bhomia.
