Thomson Andrews is on the come-up, waiting for that something big in the music industry. FYI, he is an Independent singer, songwriter and the finalist of the Amazon Prime show, The Remix. The pop-soul and Bollywood playback singer has recently collaborated with rap crew M-town Breakers, who hail from the Dharavi Project clan. They have just released a funky hip-hop Ganapti song called, Morya, to celebrate the ongoing festival.
According to Thomson, he was always keen to do something special for Ganpati. Even as he was deciding on what that would be, he started making music for it. A friend connected him to the M-Town Breakers group. One of the rappers sang a fantastic rap on Ganesha, which he had ready. So they all went into the studio and recorded the whole track. Thomson produced it, and the result was far better than they expected! Also, since the group knew b-boying and dancing, they decided to include those elements in the song. They then shot the video on a college campus and voila! It’s already being played at Ganpati pandals!
The lyrics are written by the M-Town Breakers - three rappers who worked with Ranveer Singh on Gully Boy. Thompson was reportedly thrilled to collaborate with them.
Morya will have you on your feet, tripping with those funky beats! Take a dekko....
